Position: Ruminant Productivity Consultant
Reports to: Executive Team (General Manager, Managing Director)
Clientele: Farms within key dairy regions of South Australia & Victoria
Role Purpose: As a Ruminant Productivity Consultant, you will manage and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring their productivity and profitability through tailored herd nutrition strategies. You will also develop new business opportunities and expand our client base.
Key Responsibilities:
* Tailor consulting plans to individual clients and provide clear, written advice
* Develop annual feed budgets and offer financial business analysis referrals
* Maintain open communication with clients, ensuring timely responses and scheduled on-farm visits
* Develop growth strategies focused on financial gain and client satisfaction
* Promote TRAC's products and services, addressing clients' objectives
* Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
* Set and achieve sales targets, continuously improving through feedback
Key Performance Measures:
* Nutritional and productivity consulting to 25 clients.
* Direct sales to approximately 12,500 cows
* Obtain 4 referrals per month for future sales opportunities
* Organize and manage Young Farmers TRACtion Focus Group events
* Develop and distribute monthly tech papers under the Tech Talks header
Skills & Qualifications:
* Solid agricultural background with an understanding of ruminant nutrition
* Livestock industry knowledge, including current trends and key participants
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Tertiary qualifications in a related field or relevant experience (3-5 years in animal husbandry/consultative sales or 2-3 years in ruminant nutrition)
* Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Current driver's license is essential
What to expect:
* 80% fieldwork and 20% office-based duties
* Travel expectation of 4 days per week, with a limit of 3 nights away per week
* Company-provided vehicle, mobile phone, and laptop
