About the role :
We are looking for that exceptional someone who will have a passion in delivering high quality food to our diners and who will be able to work in a fast-paced and team-orientated work environment. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of high quality dishes, contributing new ideas to the menu, ensuring that stock rotation is efficiently managed, maintaining clean and orderly work spaces, and monitoring portion and quality control.
Your Key Priorities will be to :
1. Hands on with the preparation, cooking and presentation of food for all a la carte and events menus
2. Following recipes, directions, training and instructions from the Head Chef and Sous Chef daily
3. Quality and consistency by maintaining plating and presentation, proper portioning and stock management to keep food costs down
4. Maintaining clean and orderly workspaces
5. Hygiene and food safety of the highest level in accordance with HACCP and food safety guidelines and Club policies and procedures
6. Actively driving and supporting a range of Work, Health and Safety Compliance activities
7. Directing and supporting those in your team, with positive and clear communication and feedback
8. Training of junior kitchen team members demonstrated through policies and procedures and all training courses offered by Norths Collective
9. Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders
The Candidate :
1. Experience in working under pressure in a fast paced and high volume kitchen
2. Understanding strict health and hygiene standards and Workplace Health & Safety legislation
3. Experience in food quality control and digital ordering platforms
4. Be familiar with HACCP practices and reporting tools
5. Current NSW Food Safety handling certificate or willing to obtain
6. Be a multi-functional chef with an interest in expanding your culinary development and hospitality career
7. Capability to work a rotating roster that includes days, nights, weekends and public holidays
8. Passionate about producing great tasting, looking quality food
