The Employer: Our client is a family-owned business with properties located in South West Qld. They are currently seeking a Station Manager to oversee their property at Dirranbandi. This particular property spans 48,000 acres of predominantly buffel country and is home to 2000 trade and breeding cattle, 4000 Dorper Ewes and feral goats. The Role: The company is currently seeking a dedicated Station Manager to oversee its livestock operation on said property. The station manager will manage all aspects of the cattle, sheep, and goat programs with guidance from the General Manager. Responsibilities will include vigilant water monitoring and maintenance, ensuring animal health and welfare, overseeing supplementary feeding programs, maintaining and upgrading infrastructure, fences, and yards, managing machinery use and maintenance, and coordinating with contractors and staff. The role will also involve efficiently planning mustering rounds with contractors using helicopters and bikes. The Offer: A competitive salary plus superannuation is being offered, with the potential for negotiation up to $110,000, depending on experience. The Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is expected to embody honesty and enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and a ‘can-do' attitude. A comprehensive understanding of agricultural operations and technical skills such as proficient sheep and cattle handling, welding, fencing, and operating machinery like dozers, graders, and tractors are essential. The ability to confidently ride a 2-wheeler and manage water systems is also required. Grader and Dozer experience preferred.
