We invest in professional development and provide a supportive culture because we recognise and value our staff working in this sector.About the roleTo lead advanced specialist domestic and family violence counselling, supports and services in line with practice principles, standards and guidelines. Under the guidance of the Team Leader, the roles include delivering counselling and related services to children, young people, and parents/caregivers experiencing issues relating to all forms of domestic and family violence.These roles will work as part of the Acknowledgement and Recognition of Domestic Violence and Real Change (AARDVARC) program to support families by providing case coordination and evidence-based counselling services.The role also shows leadership in collaborating with other team members and other agencies and organisations locally to develop appropriate and innovative joined up responses in support of children and young people impacted by Domestic and Family Violence.Salary and BenefitsSCHADS Level 5.1Relocation package subject to negotiationSalary packaging options up to $15,900 greatly increasing your take home pay (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit where applicable).Christmas leave granted in addition to 4 weeks annual leave (pro rata basis).17.5% annual leave loadingMonday to Friday working pattern with only occasional out of hours workFlexible working hoursA supportive induction process and in-house trainingRegular external professional supervisionEmployee Assistance ProgramAnnual flu injectionsSupportive work environment with a commitment to staff wellbeing and professional development and generous training opportunities.About youSuccessful candidates will be future focused, accountable, and able to create a positive culture, lifting others up with an energetic, compassionate, inspiring, and engaging manner.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they are able to meet the following Selection Criteria:Required Qualifications & ExperienceDegree level qualification in a relevant human services discipline (or 5 years' experience in a similar field will be considered).Minimum of 3 years' full time equivalent professional experience in a relevant human services discipline providing counselling to adults or children.Required Skills and KnowledgeAdvanced knowledge of trauma informed contemporary practice, relevant theoretical models, frameworks, and highly developed counselling and advocacy techniques and case management skills.Demonstrated understanding of the complex ways in which children are harmed through experiencing violence, and the tactics of control and abuse of power that they experience.Advanced understanding of the cumulative, compounding, and complex impacts of trauma including intergenerational trauma on First Nation's peoples and how these impact and manifest in the choices people make.Highly competent and autonomous with advanced capability in complex decision-making, balancing safety, best practice, resource limitations and desired outcomes.Required CompetenciesAble to foster positive community and stakeholder relationships and demonstrates leadership with public, community, and business groups to advocate and educate.Advanced ability to engage in critical reflection and support the development of practice accountability across the team and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with practice standards.Emotionally intelligent and aware, with a keen sense of critical self-reflection, able to keep a sense of perspective about the stories heard and remain connected as part of a resilient approach.Required ScreeningCurrent QLD C Class Driver's License which must remain current during the term of employment.Working with Children Check (Blue Card) which must remain current during the term of employment.Australia: National Police Check Clearance – at organisation expense.How to applyPlease email recruitment@nqdvrs.org.au the following -Cover letter addressing each Selection CriteriaResume and 2 professional references (one must be your current or most recent line manager)Proof of education, qualifications/or experience.Applications close 9am Friday 14th February 2025.Applications that do not address each Key Selection Criteria or are received after the closing date will not be considered for interview.
