Regional Development Australia Illawarra Shoalhaven is looking for a Communications Officer to join its growing team and positively contribute to the growth of the diverse region we call home.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Communications Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the creation and implementation of RDAIS's brand, marketing and communications initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Communications & Digital Marketing: Develop and implement communication strategies to promote RDAIS's initiatives. Manage the organisation's digital platforms, including social media (Facebook, LinkedIn), website, and digital newsletters (Mailchimp). Support the Chief Executive Officer in all media communications including briefings, pitching, drafting materials and responding to enquiries. Coordinate events, workshops, and key stakeholder meetings. Use Google Analytics and other monitoring tools to measure the effectiveness of initiatives such as digital campaigns and evergreen content. Create marketing collateral in tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. Stakeholder Engagement: Assist community groups and key stakeholders with the preparation of funding applications. Assist in the development and delivery of RDAIS's Annual Business Plan. Assist with the communications component of projects, including asset generation and ideation. Conduct research and provide analysis of the key issues and opportunities affecting the region and work with the Chief Executive Officer in the development of strategic interventions to produce tangible outcomes. Develop collaborative working relationships with regional stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes and alignments. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to Chief Executive Officer and Board as required. Maintain accurate records and documentation for communications activities. Prepare all reports associated with communications and marketing activities. Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in communications, public relations or a related field. Strong working knowledge of all social media and content management platforms including content generation and best practice execution. Experience in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Social Media Platforms and Google Analytics. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Experience in graphic design and video production is desirable or understanding of professional video editing tools and software. Experience in working with government, industry, and community stakeholders.
