A little bit about the role Reporting to the Economic Development Lead, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting a suite of initiatives to support the economic vitality of Boroondara's shopping centres and local small business community.
You will support the Economic Development Lead to ensure the effective functioning of the Economic Development team and delivery of Economic Development Strategy actions and core programs and projects.
This position is responsible for two direct reports being the Senior Economic Development Officer (fixed-term role to 30 June 2025) and the Economic Development Officer - Grants and Project Support.
The role has senior project management responsibility across a number of projects and activities, including trader association liaison; support and facilitation of trader association President and Marketing Coordinator Meetings; oversight and implementation of Boroondara's special rate and charge schemes, including renewals and bi-annual funds dispersal and management; support to the Vibrant Shopping Precincts Advisory Committee; oversight of a range of grants programs for small businesses and trader associations; oversight of the delivery of the parklet program; and other programs and initiatives that arise from the Boroondara Economic Development Strategy and Action Plan.
This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across Council and liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including trader associations, state and federal government authorities, local businesses and residents.
