The role You'll be at the heart of visitor engagement, managing reception services, answering enquiries, and supporting events and venue operations. With a focus on exceptional customer service, you'll ensure every visitor, client, and stakeholder has a positive experience while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
In this dynamic role, you'll handle everything from coordinating visitor information to assisting with venue bookings administration, mail handling, and general reception duties. You'll also play a key role in keeping safety procedures on track and ensuring seamless communication across the Gardens. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, whilst managing many competing priorities and love connecting with people, this is the role for you!
What you will bring to the role Proven experience in reception or front-facing customer service roles, handling high volumes of enquiries with professionalism and efficiency.Strong event administration skills, including experience using digital booking platforms to support venue bookings by processing online enquiries and bookings, data collection to assist the Events and Venues team in reaching visitation, sales and venue hire targets.Confidence in processing financial transactions and preparing purchase orders with accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while staying organised and responsive.A proactive approach, staying on top of phone calls, emails, and customer interactions to ensure seamless customer service.A friendly, positive attitude with excellent communication skills, creating a welcoming and helpful experience for visitors and staff alike.What is an essential requirement: Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required.About us Botanic Gardens of Sydney, under the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust, is Australia's oldest scientific institution and a custodian of over $1.2 billion in cultural, heritage, and botanical collections.
