The Location

The Hospital
A major rural referral hospital, the facility has 200 beds for acute and extended care. The services encompass a wide range, including surgical, medical, pediatric, obstetrics and gynecology, intensive care, psychiatry, and extended care, along with regional services. Notably, the region experiences a notable frequency of road accidents, skin cancer cases, farm injuries, and workplace accidents. During the fruit harvest season, the population surges, welcoming an estimated 10,000 migrant workers from various parts of Australia and abroad. This period sees a rise in cases related to snake bites, cuts, eye injuries from branches, incidents from falling off fruit-picking ladders, as well as allergic reactions, which constitute some of the most commonly treated conditions during this time.
Essential Requirements
* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
* Fellowship of the applicable College.

* Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
