Position Summary
Cleans and sanitises meat department. Dismantles equipment to sanitize. Re-stocks supplies. Assists with stocking cases and follows department procedures for quality and consistency of finished merchandise. Collects laundry and delivers to laundry service pick-up area. Follows proper safety procedures and standards.
Job Duties/Essential Functions
* Cleans and sanitises the meat room, meat cooler and supply area
* Washes, applies cleaning agents, wipes, and mops all surfaces
* Pressure washes the entire room. Empties drain screen
* Dismantles equipment
* Washes, rinses, and sanitises removable parts
* Wipes down stationary parts with cleaning agent and sprays with pressure washer
* Washes small containers and utensils
* Re-stocks meat room supplies and boxes of meat
* Collects cardboard and trash; operates trash compactor and cardboard baler
* Takes laundry to laundry service pick-up area
* Logs sanitation procedures performed on daily report
* Complies with health code
* Follows safety and security procedures and reads labels for proper use and precautions of cleaning products
* Assists with stocking cases and follows department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency
* Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment
* Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Meat Department
* Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
* Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery:
* Commercial Grinder, wheeled racks, wrapping machine, pressure washer, trash compactor, cardboard baler.
Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess):
Education/Training: High School Certificate
Licenses/Certifications: Comparable experience
Experience/Skills: Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal and organisation skills
Problem solving and critical thinking
Attention to detail
Other specific requirements:
Food Safety Certification
Hazardous Materials training - Module 1 (within 30 days)
