The business has a reputation for innovation having pioneered the design & implementation of structural, load bearing and architectural facade panels for major commercial projects ensuring the building process is more efficient, now an industry standard.
What makes the business unique is the level of technical excellence in safety, design, estimating and structural engineering but also the project management capabilities for installation and construction.
With a passion for engineering excellence the visionary owner has created a loyal team of longstanding employees that he has looked after for his entire career, he's now looking for his first CEO to lead profitable growth across the 3 states and guide him to prepare the business for a potential sale in 3-4 years' time.The RoleReporting to the Founder/Owner, the CEO role will first and foremost be tasked with caring for the employees, some of whom have been with the business for nearly 40 years, a testament to the owner's values of humility and service.
That care for people, customers, suppliers and community will be demonstrated by leading the strategic growth in both revenue and profitability, operational improvements, compliance and safety outcomes, organisational development, continued focus on training, engineering and construction excellence and innovation.
The role will be extremely hands-on across manufacturing, operations, installation & project management, engineering & estimating, drafting & design, R&D, contract administration and most importantly be customer facing - continuing the legacy of the Founder who's created a culture of excellence, providing advice on governance, risk, investment, strategy, cost management and budgeting as well as bringing some corporate structure in the form of a Board.The PersonYou will be an experienced CEO or Managing Director with deep experience in commercial construction projects and come from a manufacturing or construction background, ideally a qualified engineer but MUST have technical knowledge of high-rise construction, preferably a background in structural engineering.
You will demonstrate a consistent track record delivering profitable growth in a business larger than $50M and have ideally worked with an Owner/Founder or come from a more corporate career and now want full accountability for continuing the incredible legacy of care for people, loyal but highly skilled employees, customers, suppliers and community and live the values of humility and service, also demonstrating the well honed stakeholder management and influencing skills required to work with an industry pioneer who deeply cares for their team - you will share that passion for people and be a polished communicator who is down to earth, humble yet highly commercial.
Ideally you will also have experience leading a sale process and understand the nuances of each different construction market across the Eastern Seaboard.
The successful candidate will participate in a profit share scheme and potentially explore taking an equity stake in the business and having a personal interest in the future growth of the business.Six Degrees are the retained partner for this search, any referred candidates will be forwarded to Six Degrees for consideration.
