IRT Registered Nurse Graduate ProgramLocation: IRT Aged Care CentreApplications close: Monday 28 October 2024IRT is pleased to offer graduate registered nurse positions commencing in February 2025.The IRT Graduate Registered Nurse Program is designed to consolidate clinical nursing and personal care skills while preparing graduates for a rewarding career in aged care. This program recognizes individual talents and interests, providing an ideal opportunity for those whose aspirations extend beyond simply “getting a job.”A graduate nurse at IRT is required to attend graduate nurse specific induction. The graduate is then assigned to a host care centre/s to develop their clinical practice supported by a clinical nurse (Clinical Preceptor). In addition, regular meetings with the clinical practice development team including the Care Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator and the Senior Clinical Nurse Educator will ensure the graduate’s development is closely monitored and supported all the way. Focussed workshop days throughout the graduate year complement and re-inforce clinical and communication topics introduced during the induction.Our graduate nurse education is built around a gerontological nursing skills framework to develop the graduate’s understanding of nursing in the context of aged care. Graduates will also participate in IRT staff education and complete scheduled training as outlined in the IRT Learning Calendar. Access to a library of IRT AusMed online learning modules and the Lippincott Procedures portfolio will support specific interests and assessed learning needs.Application Criteria:Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Science (Nursing), Bachelor of Nursing (Conversion), or equivalent degree from an Australian university.Eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse, Division 1, or Enrolled Nurse, Division 2 (administered by the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency - AHPRA).Permission to work full-time.Ambition to build a career in gerontological nursing.Commitment to putting the person at the center of care.Aptitude and agility to learn and adapt.Resilience and perseverance to achieve goals.Commitment to IRT values and evidence-based work practices.Ability to work as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team.Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and computer skills.Application Process: All applications must be submitted online via the IRT job site: www.irt.org.au/careersEligible candidates who meet the selection criteria will be invited for an interview to further discuss their suitability.
