This senior role will sit within the power team who work throughout Australasia on iconic projects that are shaping the energy transition journey to net-zero carbon emissions. We deliver innovative technical solutions to our clients in high voltage power generation, transmission and distribution.
In this Melbourne or Sydney based role you will:
• Be a leader for transmission line engineering projects
• Work closely with clients to understand their project brief and technical requirement
• Formulate design solutions for transmission projects from 66kV to 500kV
• Work proactively to implement innovative solutions
• Be a mentor to the wider transmission design team
The Opportunity
Working on some of Australia’s largest transmission projects, you will help shape the transmission back bone of the network and open up renewable energy zones. Coupled with consistent, ongoing, tier 1 transmission client projects and playing an important role in mentoring and developing junior team members, you will thrive amongst a dynamic, supportive and flexible environment.
What We’ll Like About You
Your technical skills are based on solid fundamentals and have been proven through the delivery of robust and innovative power engineering designs. You are comfortable leading design teams and have a passion for coaching and mentoring emerging engineers. You will also have a broader range of skills beyond transmission line engineering, which will allow you to contribute to the power business in a broader sense.
This will be combined with your in-depth understanding of a range of engineering disciplines, regulations, policies, and procedures in addition to your Project management implementation capabilities and experience in integration for complex systems.
Knowledge and experience in PLS-CADD or TOWER is required.
Preferably, you will have proven capability across a range of the following areas:
• Significant experience in developing transmission line designs for high voltage electricity networks.
• Ability to work well with others to deliver as a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a team of engineers and designers (locally and/or internationally) to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Able to manage client expectations and build strong relationships to deliver a good outcome for all.
• Ability to delivering successful outcomes.
• Any consultancy experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Playing a key, leadership role in networking to help drive and grow the transmission line portfolio.
