We are seeking interest for a role with a Federal Government Department as a Director, Strategy and Coordination.
The role and responsibilities include:
Act as a trusted advisor to the Program Manager, providing strategic insights and operational support. Ensure alignment between program objectives, priorities, and stakeholder expectations. Lead coordination to maintain program momentum, address roadblocks, and manage competing priorities. Oversee program governance structures, including preparation for steering committees, executive briefings, and ministerial reporting. Your main duties & comprehension:
Manage program-level risks and issues, ensuring effective escalation and resolution. Drive continuous improvement in program processes, reporting, and decision-making frameworks. Lead high-level engagement with government agencies, industry bodies, and other key stakeholders. Develop and oversee communication strategies to ensure clear and consistent messaging across the program. Represent the Program Manager in meetings and forums as required. Work closely with the PMO to ensure program milestones, budgets, and resources are effectively managed. Support executive-level recruitment, workforce planning, and capability development. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to present technical information to different audiences that facilitates decision making and meets organisational objectives. Essential Requirements:
Extensive experience in delivery of large, complex programs, policy implementation, or public administration. Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills in a complex environment. Experience in risk management, governance, and decision support at an executive level. Highly developed strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to influence and negotiate with senior executives and external stakeholders. Desirable Requirements:
Experience in a Chief of Staff, Director, or senior advisory role within government. Understanding of regulatory, legislative, and policy frameworks relevant to the DART Program. Qualifications in public administration, law, business, or a related field. About You:
A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills. Ability to manage workloads, work under pressure and meet deadlines. Have experience in a similar role. Disciplined with remarkable organisational skills to meet targets and purpose. Effective and efficient use of time to ensure a productive workflow. Drive to succeed.
