About the role
Based in Subiaco in a small high functioning electrical and mechanical team for a prominent Oil and Gas client, the Permit Writer position serves as a key role delivering Electrical + Instrumentation and Mechanical 'Front End Loading' for onshore and offshore oil and gas assets.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Gather necessary documentation for safe and accurate task execution. Create task-specific permit to work (PTW) documentation using an electronic PTW tool. Identify and draft equipment electrical isolations. Group work orders to minimize PTW requirements. Analyze cause and effect, drafting necessary bypasses for critical protection. Collaborate closely with site-based Electrical, Instrumentation, Process, and Mechanical specialists. Review maintenance/job plans and relevant work instructions. Identify suitable quality Inspection Test Records (ITRs) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs). Support strategic planning and scheduling processes. Liaise closely with Maintenance and Production Coordinators to ensure safe and efficient maintenance execution activities. About you
A minimum of 3 years' experience within the Oil & Gas Industry Work Pack / Permit Preparation or in a similar capacity. Relevant SMP or E&I trade/engineering qualification. Experience with Permit To Work systems. Able to interpret engineering standards, specifications and drawings. Strong communication and analytical skills.
