SSH Group, an ASX-listed company, is looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join its KMH business unit in a permanent full-time role. This permanent full-time role is based in Kewdale, working Monday to Friday, with free onsite parking. The position reports to the Group Financial Controller with a focus on providing support to the Senior Financial Accountant, operations team and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. KMH is a leader in the long and short-term dry hire of quality mobile plant, earthmoving equipment, and mine-site compliant vehicles, supporting mining and civil projects across the state. What We’re Looking For: Formal qualifications in accounting (CA/CPA or working towards is advantageous), Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role with experience in balance sheet, high volume transactions and end of month reconciliations. Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Previous experience within the equipment hire industry and InspHire fleet management system is desirable. Demonstrable organisation and administration skills, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Full working rights in Australia. Valid WA driver’s license Police clearance – no more than 3 months old. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update the financial general ledger with accurate and timely entries, including sense checking the coding of bills and invoices. Responsible for cashflow management, including monitoring cash inflows and outflows, ensuring timely payments, and preparing accurate forecasts to maintain financial stability. Manage compliance with ATO, OSR, PTAX, and other financial regulations. Support the Senior Financial Accountant with monthly balance sheet reconciliations, process end-of-month journaling, prepare weekly/monthly reports, and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Sense check and review the entries, reconciliations by the Accounts Officer, along with providing support in the efficient escalation of issues. Proactively work with the rest of the finance team in preparing and responding to requests from the auditors when necessary. Assist, as required, with budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of financial reports.
