The Engineering Division is engaged in manufacturing, research and development and continues to improve the fleet's capabilities. The manufacturing plant has patented designs that they develop and produce here in Australia.They now seek an experienced Engineering Production Worker (Foundry Worker) to join the in Strathalbyn in South Australia.The RoleThis is a full time role with an annual salary between $65,000 to $80,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.ResponsibilitiesAnalysing and interpreting engineering production drawings.Configuring, operating, and adjusting production machinery to shape metal stock, castings, and cut sheet metal.Operating welding and electroplating equipment.Managing furnaces and quenching systems to smelt metals and alter their structural properties.Utilizing kilns and ovens for firing ceramics.Processing mineral ore and managing metal rolling machinery.Casting molten metal and operating equipment to draw metal wire through dies.Operating and monitoring computer-controlled production machinery.The RequirementsAt least a Certificate 2 or formal qualifications in Engineering/fabrication or relevant fieldAt least 1 year of relevant experience gained in a commercial settingAt least 1 year of experience preparing raw materials such as metals and alloys for castingAt least 1 year of experience in creating and assembling moulds, ensuring proper alignment and sealingAt least 1 year of experience in in using foundry machinery such as furnaces, ladles, mixers, and sand reclamation systemsAbility to read and interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and technical drawingsProficiency in operating equipment to weigh, measure, and mix materials as per specificationsFamiliarity with testing methods such as non-destructive testing (NDT) and hardness testing.Knowledge of workplace safety standards, especially regarding molten metal handling and high-temperature environmentsUnderstanding of environmental compliance, including waste management and emissions control
