We support your development in clinical skills, relational care, and communication, growing the midwifery leaders of the future.In partnership with The Institute of Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH), BiOC (Birthing in our Community) is a caseload model working in an MGP which provides maternity care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families, enabling women to be cared for and supported by a group of known midwives. What makes this model so successful is the Indigenous Family Support Workers (FSW) who are allocated to the women to work in collaboration with the Midwife and the woman, playing a critical role in connecting and securing culturally appropriate care pathways for women and families. There is a strong focus on social and emotional health and well-being, mother and infant attachment, and ready access to social work, perinatal psychology, and parenting support. In Brisbane, the My Midwives BiOC team admits clients to Metro North Hospitals in Brisbane, Caboolture, and Redcliffe.In return for your knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in not only the lives of your clients but in shaping the entire maternity care system. Within the My Midwives model of care, our midwives work on a rostered on-call system with protected days off based on your FTE. These positions are remunerated as an annualised salary from $88,830 up to $129,000 (including caseload loading) plus superannuation, based on your experience and endorsement. You will also be provided with all clinical equipment, an iPad, and a phone, as well as 6 weeks of annual leave, 2 days of paid Professional Development leave, and all other statutory leave entitlements.
