Founded in 1978, focused on strengthening culture, supporting communities, and creating sustainable solutions for the Fitzroy Valley.Job DescriptionPrimary Functions :Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives in alignment with overall business goals.Manage end-to-end recruitment and selection processes.Design, monitor, and refine HR systems, strategies, and procedures across the organisation.Foster and maintain a positive and collaborative workplace culture.Oversee and administer a performance appraisal system to drive high employee performance.Identify and monitor training needs, and coordinate staff development programs.Provide management with HR metrics and reports to support decision-making.Conduct workforce planning and maintain accurate HR reporting.Draft and manage employment contracts, offer letters, and onboarding documentation.Facilitate induction sessions to acclimate new employees to organisational policies, procedures, and culture.Support the implementation of performance management systems and processes.Guide managers in setting performance expectations, conducting reviews, and creating development plans.Assist in resolving employee performance concerns, grievances, and misconduct cases fairly and legally.Provide conflict resolution advice and ensure compliance with workplace policies and employment laws.Collaborate with the WHS Manager to uphold a safe and healthy work environment.Deliver WHS training and support incident reporting, risk assessments, and safety initiatives.The Successful ApplicantA successful HR Officer should have :Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or a related field.Minimum of 2 years' experience in a generalist HR role with exposure to recruitment, performance management, and compliance.Knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial awards, and HR best practices.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.Ability to interpret and apply employment legislation, workplace agreements, and HR policies.High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards.Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems.Understanding of Aboriginal culture and community dynamics.Ability to work effectively with Aboriginal people and in remote community settings.Current driver's licence.What's on OfferWhat's on offer for you?Attractive salary package around AUD 90,000-95,000 + super.Opportunity to work in a positive work culture that fosters team collaboration.Generous holiday leave.Ongoing growth and development.Ability to implement and own the HR Function.Chance to work in a not-for-profit organisation making a difference in local communities.Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a rewarding role within a not-for-profit organisation.
