A fantastic opportunity is available to join our talented Events team, at an exciting time of growth and development for our brand. The Wedding & Social event manager will have an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of all wedding and social events at Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel.
You will be able to develop your skills while being motivated by the Sydney lifestyle, surrounded by major Sydney icons. With no two guests being alike, our service style reflects this. We believe in delivering mind-blowing service, tailored to the unique needs of our guests.
Reporting to the Director of Events, core work activities include:
1. Event planning and execution (this is not a sales role)
2. Responsible for preparing Event & Wedding documentation
3. Coordinating Weddings and Social events
4. Delivering bespoke experiences for clients – understanding that no two events are the same
5. Recognising opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities through up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events
6. Developing and maintaining strong and profitable relationships with new and returning clients
7. Partnering with Wedding couples to deliver on their Wedding vision
8. Collaborate with the Wedding Sales team to plan and execute Wedding Expos and partner events
9. Coordinate with suppliers, vendors and partners to arrange wedding day logistics, bump ins, timings and layouts
10. Manage communication of event details with internal stakeholders while effectively managing event budgets
11. Advise and assist with menu and beverage planning, including pre-wedding tastings
12. Meet and greet with the couple on the day of the wedding, check room set up, review run sheet, communicate final details to culinary and banquet teams
13. Follow up with the couple post wedding day to offer congratulations, gain any feedback on the event and finalize billing and invoicing
Skills, Education and Experience
14. A genuinely warm & welcoming demeanor
15. Wedding Planner experience
16. Personable communication skills
17. Availability to work weekends (a must, given the nature of the role)

20. Display a passion for both the Hospitality and Wedding industry
21. A desire to innovate and create, our guests come to experience a life less ordinary
22. Relevant qualifications in Hospitality, Events and/or similar discipline with 3-5 years minimum experience within the Event/Wedding industry.
