About the Role:
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NAHLN) seeks to appoint a highly credible and collaborative technology leader to the position of Executive Director Digital Health and Innovation. Reporting to the CEO, the position will be accountable for the development, implementation, adoption, optimisation, and management of digital initiatives across NALHN that align with the strategic vision and objectives of the health service to enable world-class patient care.
The Executive Director Digital Health (ED DHI) will participate as a member of the NALHN Executive Leadership team and will develop digital business strategies to improve efficiencies in the provision of patient care and overall organisational efficiency. The position will work with SA Health departments in the management of clinical information systems, corporate systems and patient management systems. Additionally, the ED DHI will champion digital innovations to enable operational effectiveness, coordinate programs to assure technology operations and cyber security and ensure continual improvement of digital health capability. Key outcomes for the position include identifying digital approaches and opportunities to enhance the provision of health services and ensuring service delivery through management of resources against priority needs.
The successful appointee will have experience of, or strong working knowledge of digital systems within Australian health care clinical settings. Proven high level interpersonal and communication skills will be essential combined with a demonstrated ability to apply sound analytical skills and strategic thinking to drive and implement change. The incoming ED DHI will demonstrate prior success in delivering and managing a large, complex change management process or environment, preferably in a clinical context. Prior experience in a complex multi-disciplinary organisation will be essential, as well as proven experience in building a climate of trust when engaging with stakeholders, clients, service providers and peers. Senior management or executive experience in public health at a state or national level would be advantageous. An appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as health, economics, business management, technology management, or computer science is essential.
