Our Level 6 Degree ApprenticeshipsOur apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a university, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 6 Degree Apprenticeships have a typical duration of 3–6 years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you'll continue to progress with Arup once you've completed your course.The OpportunityWhat Does Our Team DoThe Data and AI team is composed of data scientists who work across various sectors within the built environment, including buildings, transport, energy, and water-related industries. Our focus is on leveraging industry-leading data science techniques to drive innovation, set standards, and promote best practices. We apply methodologies such as machine learning, computer vision, optimisation, and natural language processing to generate insights and improve decision-making. The team operates in a dynamic and flexible environment, adapting to different business contexts and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.Roles/ResponsibilitiesThe digital apprentice will support the team in collecting, organising, and analysing data to provide valuable business insights. They will be responsible for managing, cleansing, abstracting, and aggregating data, as well as identifying opportunities to integrate data-driven insights into decision-making. The role involves working with analytical tools, software development procedures, and data structures to conduct standard and customised analytical studies. The apprentice will contribute to innovation initiatives, support colleagues with analytics, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, they will develop a strong understanding of digital and data challenges, as well as business operations.Required Grades And SubjectsApplicants should have a minimum grades BBB or an equivalent, with preference to STEM subjects.
