We have an exciting opportunity, Position of Leadership as Head of Commerce, commencing Term 1, 2025. This is a POL1 for 1 year.
Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).

Job Description: Your primary responsibilities will include:
Ability to deliver Units 1-4 Accounting and Business Management curriculum;Learning Area Team Leaders oversee curriculum across the whole College;To chair Learning Area Team meetings, as per the published meeting schedule, with appropriate agenda and minutes;To work in consultation with the appropriate Director of Learning and Development in the development of Learning Area Strategic Plans;To work in collaboration with subject teachers to develop assessment and reporting instruments appropriate to the needs of students and within the policy guidelines of the College;To actively participate, as appropriate, in the Learning and Teaching Leaders group, Curriculum Standing Committee and other College committees and working groups;To contribute to student transition activities such as student assemblies and parent information nights;Coordinate learning area exam papers;Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct;Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines;Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices;Utilising a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.Skills/Experience Required: We require the following qualifications and qualities in the ideal candidate:
Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification;Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration;A strong commitment to Catholic education;Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues;Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students;An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education;Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.Special Requirements: At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.
The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. While accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
