You'll be responsible for servicing weapon systems, coordinating maintenance resources, liaising with stakeholders, and providing expert technical guidance.This role also involves supervising subcontractors and ensuring quality assurance across multiple locations, including Commonwealth and Serco Defence sites.
Your work will enhance the operational readiness of MTTT systems, optimise performance, and strengthen Defence capabilities.As a Weapons Technician, you'll make a positive impact by:Maintaining and servicing Mini Typhoon, Typhoon, and Toplite (MTTT) systemsRepair Line repairable units (LRU's) whilst using automatic test equipment (ATE) IAW the contract arrangements.
Coordinating maintenance activities and resources efficientlyProviding expert technical advice and guidanceSupervising subcontractors to ensure compliance and quality assuranceConducting stakeholder liaison to support contract operationsParticipating in inventory stocktakes and contract-support activitiesSerco is a place for youTo be successful in this role, you'll have:Experience in weapon system maintenance, repair, and quality assuranceStrong technical knowledge of defence-related systems and equipmentMinimum technical Trade certificate / Cert IV Mechanical / Electrical or Electronic EngineeringProficient in the use of the IFS Asset Management system or equivalent Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Australian Drivers LicenceThe ability to coordinate maintenance resources and supervise contractorsExperience in stakeholder engagement and providing expert guidanceWillingness to travel and work across different locations and vesselsAbility to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence security clearance or higherA commitment to upholding the highest standards of trust and responsibilityA passion for training and a desire to contribute to Defence operations in AustraliaPlease note:This position carries trust and responsibility.
