The Canberra Health Services (CHS) Audit and Risk Management Committee (ARMC) is chaired by an independent external member whose role is to provide an independent perspective to the CHS Network Executive – our highest level of governance.
ARMC’s role is to provide independent advice to the CHS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on financial and performance reporting responsibilities, risk oversight and management, and system of internal control.
As an external member of ARMC (external to ACT Government), you will play a pivotal role in providing effective oversight of CHS’ systems of governance, internal control frameworks, risk management, and financial reporting.
You should have relevant professional expertise and a keen interest in broader CHS’ strategic and operational activities. You will be expected to work with a range of stakeholders within CHS including the Chair of the Committee, independent external members, CEO and Executive team, Head of Internal Audit, and Internal Audit function. It is crucial that you promote continuous improvement, make effective use of meeting time and resources, and oversee activities with consideration of broader CHS governance functions (e.g., Network Executive Committee and other relevant Sub-Committees).
