CSI is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (CSU) and acquires, manages, and builds industry-specific software companies across the globe, providing them with strategic guidance and financial security.Headquartered out of Brisbane, Vela APX is a division of Vela Software and provides finance, HR, payroll and administrative support to our growing number of software companies across Australia, New Zealand, India, UK, Japan, US and Singapore.What You’ll Be Doing:As our Payroll Manager, you’ll lead a small team and ensure that our employees in Australia and New Zealand are paid accurately and on time each month. You’ll also support our global workforce by collaborating with our international payroll providers.Beyond the numbers, you’ll work closely with HR, finance, and business leaders at all levels, ensuring payroll runs smoothly and efficiently while continuously looking for ways to improve our processes.Your Key Responsibilities:Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand each month.Work with international payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payments for global employees.Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of payroll professionals, fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.Ensure compliance with local employment laws, tax regulations, and company policies.Partner with HR and finance teams to support payroll-related queries and accurate reporting.Drive process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.Stay updated with changes in payroll legislation and ensure best practices.What We’re Looking for:Proven experience in a payroll management role, preferably across Australia and New Zealand.Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax, and compliance requirements.Experience working with international payroll providers (nice to have, but not essential).Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a team.High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience working with HR and finance systems (Experience with Micropay and iPayroll would be a plus!)Why Join Us?At Vela APX, we believe in taking care of our team.
