Pathology Assistant Microbiology, Queensland HealthJoin our team on a permanent part-time basis located in Toowoomba. You will be responsible for performing a broad range of simple to complex pre-analytical and post-analytical procedures consistently and accurately and maintaining competence in the operational aspects of the unit.You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:Perform a diverse range of tasks in the Microbiology Specimen Reception area to a consistently high standard in accordance with established laboratory protocols.Knowledge and experience in data entry and word processing.Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal local supervision.Be proficient in the use of laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, cytospin, staining machine).Knowledge and understanding of the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.Demonstrated literacy and numeracy skills including the ability to read and follow instructions, work conscientiously, and contribute as an effective team member to achieve our organisational goals and objectives.Demonstrate a high level of commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement, in accordance with National Association of Testing Authority/International Standardisation Organisation (NATA/ISO).Demonstrate ability to cooperate and actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety, and an ethical environment.Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements:No formal qualifications are required for this position; however, a science qualification would be advantageous.Queensland Health staff will be required to participate in shift, on-call, and/or weekend roster arrangements.
