The Department:
We seek a motivated and experienced Consultant in Acute Medicine, who will work as part of the Department of Acute Medicine across the South region of Tasmania's largest hospital and major referral centre. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, this hospital collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.
All their services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients in General & Acute Medicine.
* Contribute to the Department of Acute Medicine's after-hours and weekend roster.
* Provide professional leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health staff and foster interdisciplinary teamwork.
* Be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as trainee and IMG supervision and mentoring.
* Be involved in research and undertake quality improvement activities.
* Actively support and participate in service development to improve current services and develop new services in the Department.
Requirements:
Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA or New Zealand.
