Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
* To undertake the duties and requirements of this role applicants should hold a relevant trade qualification, trade certificate (or equivalent vocational qualifications) and industry experience in construction, or engineering.
* Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (current version) or equivalent qualification would be highly desirable. Candidates not possessing a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be required to achieve that qualification within 12 months.
* Conduct comprehensive induction processes, including Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessments where required, using outcomes to provide Vocational Education and Training guidance and support to meet individual prisoner needs, abilities and goals.
* Utilise a range of contemporary training and assessment techniques, including reasonable adjustment, to best support prisoners engage in vocational education and training options.
* Liaise with external Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), and internal stakeholders, to effectively coordinate and deliver nationally recognised vocational training options as per Auspice or other agreements.
* Conduct fair, flexible, valid and reliable assessments of prisoner competency, provide additional training & support where required to support positive assessment outcomes.
