Job DescriptionReporting to the Executive General Manager, Marketing and Membership, this position will be responsible for the design and implementation of an effective external communications plan, which encompasses public relations, social media, talent management, stakeholder and media relations, issues and crisis management and internal communications across the organisation. As the senior Communications specialist, you will lead a small team to oversee all aspects of Melbourne Royal's business operations including: Melbourne Showgrounds including the Victoria Pavilion Melbourne Royal Food and Beverage Awards From strategy development to execution, this role will own, drive and integrate this highly respected and valued discipline across a dynamic and close-knit marketing and communications team. The role will also be involved in executing a wide variety of activities including media campaigns, copywriting, customer communications, development of social media platforms and other forms of communications. Desired Skills and ExperienceWe are seeking candidates with a tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, media or similar discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience and a record of achievement in a communications and media environment. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their experience in developing and maintaining a broad range of stakeholder networks and media contacts. If you are looking for a position which will enable you to work and manage multiple projects across a diverse range of industry sectors (food, agriculture, beverages, events, venues etc) in a high paced environment – this is the role for you.
