Responsibilities Design and Analysis: Develop structural designs for detached houses, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and Building Codes. Project Management: Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring successful project completion. Commercial and Industrial Projects: Work on the design and analysis of commercial and industrial structures, leveraging your expertise to bring in new business opportunities. Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide technical advice, and maintain strong relationships. Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Software Proficiency: Utilise AutoCAD and other relevant software for drafting and structural design. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all designs comply with local regulations and standards, and maintain accurate project documentation. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure high-quality outputs. Qualifications 5 years of experience as a Structural Engineer. Proven experience in designing detached houses in Australia, with a strong understanding of local building standards and codes. Experience in commercial and industrial structures, particularly if you can bring existing customers or business opportunities. Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status or the ability to obtain it in the near future is highly desirable. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant structural design software. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
