Overview
The Legal Counsels of Procter & Gamble play a vital role in helping to build the Company’s business while protecting its assets, and assuring its compliance with the myriad of laws and regulations that affect a multinational corporation.
To succeed in the P&G environment, a sound base of knowledge and outstanding practical problem-solving skills is expected.
You will assist in planning, conducting legal research and providing legal advice. Additional responsibilities include the preparation of legal documents, compliance with contract terms, and the involvement in handling relevant legal issues, corporate projects and lawsuits in an international environment.
You are expected to support in the brand and commercial teams across the Asia region, negotiating contract issues; managing litigation; handling issues in advertising clearance and advertising disputes with competitors and state authorities; advising in privacy and digital matters; competition law, and other civil and administrative legal matters; co-operating with other key functions within the Company on highly publicized issues.
About the role
Reporting to our Senior Legal Counsel for Australia and New Zealand you will be responsible for supporting the legal team and wider business, in the following:
* Reviewing, drafting, advise on and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts including supply and distribution agreements.
* Researching, interpreting legislation and providing legal advice on consumer law, intellectual property and compliance issues, governance, human resources, disputes and litigation.
* Advising on risks associated with product development, marketing claims and campaigns.
* Advising on compliance with consumer guarantees, product safety and liability issues.
* Preparing basic letters, legal documents and emails for the legal function.
* Maintaining records, providing reports and conducting legal research.
* Managing the contract management database and liaising directly with the business on the execution, upkeep and renewal of contracts.
* Support for the preparation of legal education presentations and workshops for the business.
Job Qualifications
What you'll need to succeed:
* Admitted to practice as a Lawyer in Australia.
* 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in the legal field.
* Strong communication and analytical skills.
* The ability to work effectively in a global matrix organisation across geographic and functional boundaries.
* A strong work ethic and an exceptional business partnering focus.
* The ability to multi-task and manage complexity and take a solution focused approach.
* An energetic, outgoing, self-motivated and team-oriented approach.
* Good attention to detail; effective organisational and time management skills.
