About the Role Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team as a casual, you will support people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster with shifts available in Gymea, Miranda and Kirrawee. The people we support are looking for engaging disability support workers who are passionate about providing active support and getting involved in their daily activities. To provide best support you will have experience in following behaviour support plans, providing personal care and manual handling and will have availability to commit to a variety of shifts including active nights, sleepover shifts and short shifts of 3 or 4 hours each week. Key Responsibilities Follow support plans Actively engage in clients goals Provide personal care, stoma care and manual handling Foster positive relationships with clients, families and team Advocate for client choice and control Assist in household chores (cooking and cleaning) Maintain thorough documentation and record-keeping Skills & Experience Experience with personal care Previous experience working with behaviour support plans Ability to complete regular manual handling Confidence in driving a wheelchair van An Australian driver’s licence A current First Aid and CPR certificate Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
