**Job Title:** Senior SQL Database Administrator
The Senior SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for ensuring Great Southern Bank's critical systems are high-performing and highly available.
To achieve this, the successful candidate will work closely with business and technical staff to plan and deliver system solutions including development, change management, and releases.
Key Responsibilities:
* SQL database support for critical systems within the Technology Office
* Participation in the rotating SQL Database Administration on-call roster
* Working with internal technology teams and 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot unplanned outages and degradations across multiple layers of technology
* Review of SQL statements and performance metrics to provide recommendations for performance optimization and system enhancements
* System patching and vulnerability management to keep within the organization's operational risk appetite statement
* Configuration and maintenance of 24x7 system monitoring and alerting of critical systems
* Support for project delivery teams of non-production environment availability, configuration, and application build and deployment processes
Requirements:
* 7-10+ years in IT with a strong generalist background in relevant technology disciplines, systems administration, technical project delivery, and support roles
* 5+ years in a similar role with a background in SQL database administration, preferably in financial services, specifically banking
* Demonstrated experience working in a customer-centric team in a 24/7 time-critical environment
* Advanced knowledge of technologies such as MS SQL Server and MS Windows Server
* Strong understanding of SQL high availability solutions (AlwaysOn)
* System change and release management experience in a change-controlled environment
* Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell
