THE ROLE
Reporting to the Human Resource Manager and supported by the wider management teams, the position of Return to Work and Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the effective injury management and return to work practices across the organisation, overseeing OH&S systems, policies, and processes to ensure legislative compliance is met.
This position is on a permanent part-time basis (with potential for full-time employment for the right candidate).
Key Responsibilities include:
* Liaise with WorkSafe agents, health practitioners, rehabilitation providers, claimants, and relevant parties to achieve a timely return to work program for ill or injured employees.
* Provide support and knowledge to supervisors and managers to develop their understanding of WorkCover compensation and injury management obligations.
* Oversee WorkCover claims and reporting on these claims as necessary and actively participate in WorkCover reviews.
* In consultation with management, develop, implement, and review systems to achieve workplace health, safety, and wellbeing.
* Manage incident, hazard reporting, and incident investigations as required.
* Provide data, feedback, and information to management where requested.
* Conduct spot audits across the organisation.
* Communicate OH&S policy and procedures to relevant key parties and committees.
* Support the HR Manager in maintaining and providing accurate systems and information related to OH&S and RTW requirements.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
* Relevant tertiary qualification in OH&S as a Return-to-Work Coordinator.
* Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
* Excellent interpersonal communication and organisational skills.
* Excellent range of knowledge in MS Office programs.
* Proven ability to coach, develop, and provide knowledge to others.
* Team player and self-starter with initiative.
* Candidates with experience in Aged/Health Care settings are highly desirable.
