Role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2025.
Reporting to the Insurance Coordinator, you will be the responsible for leading the compilation or property insurance and Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) claims for natural disaster events that have impacted from Victoria’s arterial road network from the October 2022 flood and storm event, and subsequent events.
The role will take a key function in supporting the implementation of a clear insurance claims process for the Transport Services group and act as a senior lead to support other claims assessors in the team.
The role will assist the Insurance Coordinator in their management of this key risk deliverable, in line with government and departmental expectations and policies.
Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
1. Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across DTP, other agencies and external contractors.
2. Provide oversight to the claim’s compilation process from natural disaster events since the October 2022 flood and storm events
3. Be the senior member of the claims assessor team and assist the Insurance Coordinator to manage the administration of property insurance and DRFA claims for the Transport Services group.
4. Implement, refine and provide continuous improvement to the property insurance claims process alongside contractors and internal resources.
5. Support the Transport Services executive group with the provision of accurate and authoritative advice.
6. Proactively support emerging priorities with an agility to shift focus to respond to reactive issues and risks to support requirements of management.

Qualifications and Experience
Desirable
7. A relevant tertiary degree in business, engineering or public policy or extensive relevant experience.Experience in insurance claims or general process management would be beneficial.
