Job Title: Lab Manager
The Genomic Medicine Lab is a dynamic team with expertise in clinical medicine, genomics, and computational biology. Our research focuses on the application of genomics to better understand, predict, diagnose, treat, and prevent disease.
We have key expertise in diseases of inflammation, ageing, and blindness, where we perform high-quality genomic research to enable clinical impact.
The Opportunity
The Lab Manager will work closely with colleagues in the Genomic Medicine Lab, Genomics and Inherited Disease Program, and external stakeholders to support our day-to-day operations and strategic activities.
This role will support and report directly to Associate Professor Owen Siggs, Head of the Genomic Medicine Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage lab operations, workflows, and resources
* Maintain compliance with institutional and ethics requirements
* Support financial management and grant reporting
* Develop submissions to Human Research Ethics Committees
* Support participant recruitment and sample collection
* Coordinate submission of samples to service providers
* Provide support with staff supervision and training
* Identify areas of inefficiency or risk and address them
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree or higher with at least two years of lab or project management experience.
You should demonstrate exceptional time management and organisational skills, with evidence of managing a complex workload.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as well as a strong command of online collaborative tools.
