Position Overview
The Management Accountant role at Hutcheon and Pearce performs various complex accounting duties following dealership policies and accounting theory, along with providing extensive guidance and training to staff, and ensuring smooth operations within the organisation.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
1. Gains a deep understanding of the Sales Administration process from start to finish to understand accounting principles involved. Corrects transactions and processes where appropriate.
2. Gain a deep understanding of our Accounting ERP to understand back end, set up and integration to solve issues and set up users.
3. Analyses company operations to identify opportunities for reduction in expenses.
4. Gathers, reviews, and analyses statistical information and financial metrics.
5. Makes necessary corrections and/or adjustments to receive accurate report information.
6. Examines accounting information contained in reports and exhibits, traces and reconciles unusual variances.
7. Performs complex account reconciliations, and authorization of banking transactions.
8. Communicates with others in the organization to answer accounting questions or resolve issues.
9. Financial reporting as required to assist the Financial Controller and Organisation.
10. Assists with recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees.
11. Provides financial assistance to senior management team.
12. Manages all accounting activities to ensure that financial processes are timely, accurate & contain adequate internal controls.
13. May be responsible for maintenance of the fixed asset register.
14. May prepare various daily, monthly, quarterly, or annual financial management reports or statements, including PL, BS, tax returns, BAS, commissions etc.
The Ideal Candidate should have:
1. 3+ years in an accounting position
2. Understanding of financial concepts such as budgets, Return on Investment (ROI), and Net Operating Return on Assets (NORA)
3. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
4. Knowledge of accounting systems
5. High level of attention to detail and accuracy
6. Degree in an Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience
7. CPA or CA qualifications
