The role will be responsible for the management and oversight of key regional and strategic social investment partnerships; community issues management, key stakeholder engagement, and being a connection point between our operations and the communities in which we operate. The role will further involve stakeholder engagement and social investment strategy, budget and planning activities, communication, event management, governance and compliance.Key responsibilities for the role:Provide insights into the requirements of the local community and bring advice into the Community Team with regards to key issues and community needs.Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand priority issues and concerns. Collaborate and link stakeholders, projects and efforts together to achieve enhanced outcomes for all parties.Interact with local governments and regulatory bodies, and develop meaningful relationships with community members, organisations and other interested stakeholders.Effectively carry out contract management, compliance, reporting and other process requirements for social investment activities.Advise Corporate Affairs leadership and Asset team on key social risks and contribute to the development of risk management strategies.Regularly monitor social investment projects to ensure achievement of outcomes to agreed timelines, targets, and budgets and against contractual commitments.Identify opportunities to profile the success and impact of the community team's work and partnerships both internally and externally.About YouAcademic degree or professional qualification in community relations or international development, planning, business/economic development, stakeholder engagement, communications or other relevant fields.Experience in community relations/development, and working in regional or remote communities preferredExperience developing projects to address community issuesUnderstanding of issues management including human rights, Indigenous Peoples, supply chain management and transparency and the concept of shared or social valueDemonstrated understanding and experience in areas of Sustainability, Community and Social Impact and Social Investment.Experience working with and understanding of Indigenous communities.Able to adapt to changing environments, meet competing priorities and manage complex issues.Problem solving, analytical and evaluative skills, an ability to operate flexibly and adaptivelyAbility to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop strong relationshipsThis is a residential Monday to Friday role, based in Mackay (QLD)Applications close on Sunday, December 15, at 11:59 (AEST)About Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
