About the role
An exciting immediate start role currently exists in order to fill a key role in their finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this Financial Accountant's position will help assist in the management and communication of the companies’ financial & corporate accounting activities on both a domestic and international scale. Initially this will be a month contract, however there is the opportunity for extension and/or permanency.
The responsibilities
Reporting into the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
1. Analyse costs and prepare
2. Analyse costs and prepare weekly Profit and Loss statement
3. Preparation of Business unit P&L and comparison reports
4. Full monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
5. Prepare and once approved, enter credit notes, as per guidelines provided by the Financial Controller and/or Managing Director
6. Assist with the investigation and processing of all customer/agent’s refund requests received from customers/agents or SAA staff
7. Oversee Finance Customer Services Officer in the administration of Accounts Receivables
8. Assist and oversee the allocation of funds received from Agents
9. Assist with full function payroll
10. Assist other Finance members during peak period as necessary
11. Assist Financial Controller with Finance Projects
12. Corporate Governance including BAS, Payroll Tax, PAYG
13. Investigate and respond to enquiries for additional information from customers/agents regarding invoices and payments via telephone and email in a timely manner
14. Monitor the status of all cancelled subscriptions and determine if the invoice needs to be credited or chased for payment
15. Monitor the status of all private landlord payments and ensure jobs booked promptly
16. Assist in Budget and Year End Audit process
17. Other duties as assigned by Financial Controller and/or Managing Director
The successful applicant will have
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have worked as a Financial Accountant for the last year as a minimum. Experience with MYOB Advanced is advantageous but not essential.
