Yarrow Place works to prevent adult rape and sexual assault in South Australia and assist those affected to address the effects of rape and sexual assault.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Yarrow Place Rape and Sexual Assault Service as an After Hours Crisis Response / Triage Worker (Social Worker) in a Casual capacity.
* Provide face-to-face crisis advocacy and crisis intervention to people of all genders who have experienced recent sexual assault.
* Work in partnership with on-call forensic doctor/nurse.
* Provide some telephone crisis advocacy and crisis intervention to those who have experienced recent sexual assault.
* Contact, consult with, and coordinate other members of the Yarrow Place Daytime and after-hours service.
* Provide referral information for people of all genders seeking to access counselling, support groups, legal assistance or other help or information in relation to recent sexual assault.
* Liaise closely with members of other agencies and statutory authorities in provision of a daytime and after-hours sexual assault service.
* Support new Crisis Response Workers on the after-hours panel.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Mature and self-directed, able to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute towards a cohesive team culture.
* Demonstrated capacity to provide crisis counselling and support to people who have experienced a recent rape or sexual assault.
* Proven ability to organise, coordinate, consult, liaise, and communicate effectively.
