Shotton Mill Limited (part of the Eren Holding group) is currently constructing the UK’s largest containerboard machine along with a tissue machine.This position is located in Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales.What you'll do:Monitoring and maintaining the performance, security, and reliability of servers, storage, and network infrastructure.Installing, configuring, and supporting server hardware, software, and network devices.Performing regular system and network audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.Implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.Collaborating with the IT team to plan and execute system upgrades and improvements.Documenting system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.Supporting the on-premise production applications from the infrastructure perspective.Supporting the helpdesk technicians with requests requiring specialist knowledge.Working with the IT departments based in Türkiye on IT infrastructure related issues in a matrix organisation.Assisting the Engineering department with IT-related issues.Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the company's IT infrastructure remains current and secure.Working with project teams and construction companies to coordinate installation work required for the rebuild project.Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or relevant proven experience in these fields.Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.Knowledge and Experience:Proven experience as a System & Network Engineer or similar role.Strong knowledge of server and network hardware, software, and protocols.Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g., VMware).Working with a VMware ESXi environment with disaggregated storage.Familiarity with storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS) and backup technologies.Working with Microsoft Intune, Azure and Office 365 for user management, desktop and mobile device management.Working with Cyber Security software including endpoint management, SIEM and EDR.Proficiency in network security practices and tools.Understanding of network cabling standards and testing.Working with suppliers to safely install applications onto our data centre facilities, network cabling and other network systems.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Working Conditions:You will initially be based within the project village on a site undergoing significant construction work.
