We strongly encourage applicants from key communities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGBTIQA+ people, and people living with disabilities.The Role: Assesses and responds to the palliative care needs and issues, including allied health, nursing and/or medical, as expressed or indicated by clients, their families or carers, and other care providers in a variety of settings within Tasmania.Develops, provides, and evaluates contemporary palliative care social work services as part of a multi and interdisciplinary service.Acts as a consultant to internal and external service providers as appropriate.Key Skills: Sound knowledge of the philosophy, principles, and practice of palliative care in a primary health care framework.Extensive proven experience as a social worker including a substantial knowledge of the complex needs of palliative care clients and their carers/family.Well-developed interpersonal, counselling, bereavement support and conflict resolution skills including the demonstrated ability to collaboratively work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.The Team: The Specialist Palliative Care Service (South) (SPCS) is a dynamic multidisciplinary team that provides clinical leadership and evidence-based specialist advice in palliative care. As a community consult service, the SPCS works with primary and secondary health care providers in the delivery of excellence to achieve optimal comfort, quality of life and end of life care for people with complex palliative care needs.Details of appointment: Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary: $106,966 to $118,114 per annum.
