In this role, you'll: • Join our Engineering and Maintenance – Major Works team at Sydney Trains. • Your focus will be on providing designs and related technical services associated with the development of rail telecommunications networks such as including transmission systems, voice networks, optic fibre and copper cable network systems, telecommunications facilities including plant and equipment, communications rooms, towers and masts. • Provide technical specialist advice to ensure the safety and integrity of the telecommunications network design and be responsible for verifying allocated telecommunications design work. • Support Telecommunications systems projects, ensuring that the overall integrated system solution meets business needs, is value for money, and delivered with engineering due diligence in a timely manner. This is a permanent full-time role located at Auburn. The salary is RC5 $114,868 - $132,498 + superannuation. You'll enjoy working in a collaborative team environment with experienced engineers on large-scale telecommunications projects that directly impact the safety and efficiency of Sydney's rail network. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of Sydney’s rail telecommunications networks, delivering high-quality solutions that improve safety, reliability, and performance across the system. About you • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering, qualifying for graduate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia. OR Tertiary qualifications in Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering and extensive experience in rail telecommunications engineering design. • Extensive experience with telecommunications design relating to Telecommunications Infrastructure ( Power / Facilities) and Optic Fibre & Copper Cables Networks as applied to meet the rail specific requirements of Train Control, electrical, Signals and emergency communication systems. • Experience in software application to support engineering design and management such as AutoCad, GIS, Visio, Redmine and Systems Engineering tools – i.e. Spira.
