Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service (WWHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that pridesitself on delivering a range of health services to the community in a style and manner that makes clients feelwelcome and comfortable.WWHS operates a range of clinics and provides a range of primary health care and other services whichinclude our Main Clinic (acute and general care), Gudbinji Chronic Disease Clinic, Binjari Health Centre,Women and Children's Health, Men's Health and a Dental Clinic.We also deliver Community Service programs which aim to achieve better outcomes in early intervention,treatment, and management through an integrated approach in a primary health care setting like our Alcoholand Other Drugs Program, Social and Emotional Wellbeing program, Strongbala Men's Justice, KatherineIndividual Support Program, our Strong Indigenous Families program and Connecting Pathways Program.As well as providing Clinical and Community Services WWHS also provides Professional Development andTraining, as well as Corporate Services being: Human Resources, Finance, Infrastructure, Work Health andSafety, Compliance and Administration Support.WWHS is currently in process of establishing The Culture Care Connect (CCC) program within our communityServices Program offering. CCC is a proactive aftercare service will be designed and delivered to supportAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People following a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis. Culture CareConnect will provide a safe environment, culturally appropriate care co-ordination, and support and linkageswith different aspects of treatment or response.The CCC Coordinator, Design and Implementation will design and implement the Big Rivers RegionCommunity-Controlled Suicide Prevention Network; a network that aims to inform and improve First Nation'speople access to culturally safe and appropriate suicide prevention services.This will involve liaising, within a set time, with all relevant stakeholders including the CCC Researcher, Eldersand Community Members across the region, all relevant organisations within the Big Rivers Region andIndividuals who have experienced a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis (Peers/Clients of Wurli or other BigRivers Health Services; Sunrise and Katherine West Health Board.) The role will include negotiating andunderstanding all the complexities of working with such a wide range of stakeholders, understanding anypre-existing system currently in place, and ensuring the success of the program in the future, to reduce theincidence of further attempts, or further suicidal crises, and reduce the impacts on Aboriginal and TorresStrait Islander individuals, families, and Communities. Ideally, we are seeking candidates with the following Tertiary qualifications at Masters, Bachelor or Diploma (with extensive experience) in CommunityDevelopment, Aboriginal Health Practitioner, Psychology and/or Public Health. Demonstrated a minimum of 3-5 years' experience within a primary health system or as researchassistant. Evidence of participatory and narrative approaches in health, research and organisational change. An established track record of complex project management in community-controlled health settingsand services and willingness to listen deeply and respond to community needs. Demonstrated ability to lead organisational change through effective team leadership andmanagement. Proven ability to collect, analyse and report community-driven data. Demonstrated ability or high-level understanding of Knowledge Translation processes andapplication of knowledge into practice.
