Our heavy maintenance facility is based in Cairns, Far North Queensland where an exciting opportunity now exists for highly motivated individuals to become an integral part of our engineering team. Due to sustained and continual growth, exciting opportunities now exist for the following position B1.3 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) The role: Completing assigned tasks within agreed time frame Checking tasks have been carried out IAW the current and approved Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) Checking that the stages of maintenance which have been carried out, have been certified for no later than the end of the day Advising the certifying LAME of any unforeseen maintenance that has arisen outside the original scope of work as soon as practicable. Advising relevant independent LAME of the requirement to carry out Independent/Duplicate inspection of Control procedures for critical tasks, Requirements for independent inspection of critical control system maintenance and Flight control system additional requirements. Complying with appropriate State or Territory Workplace Health and safety legislation/regulations and the Skytek Safety Management System. Identifying and reporting hazards and potential safety risks to the Job/project Co-ordinator that cannot be addressed within the Project team Requirements : A relevant Aviation industry qualification – Certificate IV in Aeroskills or equivalent Trade Papers, (or working towards) and equivalent experience in Aviation maintenance environment. An understanding of Human Factors within an Aviation Maintenance environment Current ASIC card or be eligible to hold Australian ASIC General Aviation experience on PT6 turbine aircraft is desirable Experience with Part 145 highly regarded Capacity to refer to and interpret specifications/standards and written technical instructions Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines Excellent time management and organisational skills with strong attention to detail Successful applicants must have a commitment to safety, with a minimum of 1 years experience and employment is conditional upon satisfying aviation security and screening procedures.
