Ecoscape is seeking an experienced Zoologist with 3-6 years' experience to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be personable, self-motivated, and adaptable. They will enjoy working within our team of environmental scientists, botanists, ecologists and spatial analysts, as well as working collaboratively with our Directors, Principals, landscape architects and clients.This role will participate in providing technical fauna services to established and new clients in Western Australia including mining, government, infrastructure, and energy. The role includes tasks such as zoological survey (field) work, technical report writing, and working collaboratively with other teams within the company and externally. You will have the opportunity to develop and expand your skills in field survey practices, field team leadership, GIS, spatial ecology, data management, data analysis and technical reporting. The role is permanent full-time, however, applications for a part time position may be considered. This position is open to those who have Australian citizenship or a permanent work visa. Essential Criteria A Tertiary degree in zoology, conservation biology, ecology, environmental science or similar3-6 years' experience including previous environmental consultancy experienceCurrent Western Australian C-class (manual) Driver's LicenceThe desire and ability to do field work of up to 13 days' duration (but usually less), at times in remote areasThe ability to navigate successfully and safely through uncleared bushland, away from established roadsFauna species identification skills and at least a basic understanding of ecological principles relevant for fauna surveyUnderstanding of relevant WA and Commonwealth legislation and guidelinesTechnical report writing skillsProficient use of Microsoft suiteA desire to develop project management skills Ability to work independently and collaborativelyGood emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills including a positive attitude and the ability to fit in well with a team of friendly professionals.
