About the Role
At BHP our focus is to attract and retain the best people and to help us facilitate the attraction piece, we have a great opportunity. We are seeking a self-motivated Work Ready Program Coordinator who is ready to make a difference in attracting, mentoring and retaining our future with program graduates, apprentices, and School Based Trainees. Joining our Newman Operations team, you will be a member of a dynamic, professional, friendly, and collaborative team. Ensuring our Inclusion and Diversity targets are front of mind across all initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
* Working closely with supervisors, leaders, and managers in the WAIO business to identify suitable roles and pathways for Indigenous and Traditional Owner candidates, program graduates, apprenticeships, and School Based Trainees
* Development of, or engaging with, any other relevant programs to identify relevant pathway candidates
* Managing the journey of candidates into and through the pathways to ensure retention and engagement by relevant stakeholders
* Assist in the supervision of the School Based Trainee Program in conjunction with Newman Senior High School
* Aid in the facilitation of key events that support employment pathways and that elevate the recognition of Indigenous days of importance
* Deliver data and insights on employment pathway activities
* Manage the recruitment and onboarding of all successful candidates
About You
* Familiarity and understanding of the BHP Social Value purpose and Inclusion & Diversity strategy
* Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
* Ability to recognise where value can be added and have the organisational and influencing skills to deliver against commitments
* Experience mentoring, coaching team members under your direct supervision
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders ranging from graduates/trainees and team members to senior business leaders
* High level of experience in stakeholder engagement both externally and internally, with a proven track record
