About the Company My client is a successful design, innovation and manufacturing business that’s looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical product development from concept to full production. With cutting-edge in-house capabilities, they design and produce professional equipment trusted by creatives globally. The Role As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimising mechanical systems and components. Your expertise will be integral to various projects, ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Key responsibilities include: Lead mechanical product development from concept to mass production Design high-precision plastic, metal, and electronic assemblies Develop 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and tolerance analyses Conduct DFM/DFA reviews, material selection, and structural analysis Collaborate closely with electronics, firmware, and industrial design teams Prototype using CNC machining, 3D printing, and injection moulding Ensure products meet performance, reliability, and certification standards Skills and experience 5 years of experience in mechanical design for consumer electronics Expertise in precision mechanical design – injection moulding, die casting, sheet metal, CNC machining Strong understanding of plastics, metals, and mechanical failure modes Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks required, Onshape desired), GD&T, and PDM systems Experience in DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and reliability testing Hands-on experience with ANSYS or similar CAE tools (desirable) Benefits Work on cutting-edge products used by creators worldwide Be part of a fast-growing Australian manufacturing powerhouse Opportunities for professional growth and leadership Access to the latest products and content creation tools N.B.
