Job Title: Chef
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible for providing quality Middle Eastern Inspired dishes which have been prepared, cooked and presented according to company standard and within timescales required for the Restaurant.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Checking the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are metPlanning and organising foods to be preparedPreparation, cooking, garnishing or presentation of foodLiaising with Executive Chef and management on daily food preparation activitiesCollaborating with other personnel to plan and develop recipes or menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients or the likely number of customersCoordinate timing of food production activities and determining production schedules to ensure timely delivery of servicesMaintaining high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout kitchen areaOrdering, receiving of stock to company standardsConducting daily start and end of service procedures Qualifications and Skills :
Minimum qualification required is Australian Diploma/ Advance Diploma, Associate Degree equivalent with Mandatory 2 years of relevant work experience. In the absence of qualifications, 3 years of relevant experience is required.

Demonstrated knowledge of Middle Eastern / Afghan culinary techniquesFast, efficient, and reliable worker practicesUnderstanding of menu and recipe development techniquesStrong leadership abilitiesOngoing awareness of culinary trendsUnderstanding of health and sanitation lawsExcellent knife-handling skills Hours: Full Time Permanent (38 hours per week)
