About Us HumanAbility is a not-for-profit, industry owned and led organisation that is contracted by the federal government. It was established as a Jobs and Skills Council for the health, human services, aged care and disability, sport & recreation and early childhood industries to fulfil the requirements of the Jobs & Skills Councils – Strengthening Australia's National Vocational Education and Training System program. The role may be located anywhere in Australia and will involve travel with overnight stays for organisation meetings, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and industry events.About the position HumanAbility is seeking a skilled and dynamic Project Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about HumanAbility's projects across all channels.The Project Communications Coordinator will work with the Project Communications Advisor and other members of the Communications team to develop, manage and monitor social media for HumanAbility projects and ensure this primary communications channel is both engaging and functional. Additionally, this role will also assist in content creation and management of HumanAbility's project webpages website as well as assisting in all other communications activity as required, including bulk emails, newsletters and events promotion.This position will also assist the wider Communications team as required and will at times be required to liaise with a range of contractors, such as graphic designers, videographers, and website developers.Key Accountabilities Communications ManagementSupport the creation and delivery of project communications across HumanAbility's communications channels, including social media, website and email.Assist in the development and implementation of HumanAbility's social media strategy, including identifying new opportunities to improve stakeholder engagement in HumanAbility projects.Assess and manage risk, ensuring communications messaging and delivery aligns with HumanAbility's core purpose and values.Communications CoordinationWork closely with the Project Communications Advisor and Communications team members to understand project communications goals and timelines.Develop and maintain content calendars to ensure timely delivery of project communication materials.Assist in the maintenance of the Communications team's Monday boards and workflow.Content CreationCreate and write content for HumanAbility's communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, to enhance communication efforts.Communications Coordination Work closely with the Communications Director and Communications team members to understand communications goals and timelines.Develop and maintain content calendars to ensure timely delivery of communication materials. Utilise existing HumanAbility channels and processes to enhance stakeholder communication and involvement.Contractor ManagementManage relationships with external contractors such as graphic designers, videographers, and website developers.Coordinate and oversee the work of contractors to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.Review and manage approval of contractor outputs, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and communication standardsOtherObserve and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector.Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
